On new years eve our zone got to watch two movies- How to Train Yer Dragon 2 and Frozen. How to train yer dragon was way way way good. Frozen was cool.
Two exchanges this week-
One with Elder Li in the Chinese area...that one was cool. I got to speak Chinese to lots of people. The only lessons we taught was with a deaf person, haha, so he just wrote out the lesson to her in english. Talk about awkward.
One with Elder Kloosterboer in Hayward 1st ward. That was also cool. He's from Holland and he has a cool European accent. We found a new investigator there...their area is starting to pick up.
We still haven't found any new investigators here... :/ We have 3 investigators. 2 of them, Harry and Mae, are coming along super well. We taught them the PoS this week, and at the end of the lesson, Harry said he wanted to come to church. Then later this week we mowed their lawn, and then he said it again, but they weren't able to make it :/
The work here in the Union City/Hayward area is picking up well in general, overall we're finding lots more people to teach and talking to more people, wahoo!
Lots of funny things happened this week, but I can't remember what they were, haha.
So here's my spiritual thought- Repentance is great! The Book of Mormon explains that when we're baptized, we're baptized unto repentance, 3 Nephi 27:19 says, "When you're baptized, you're baptized unto repentance, not just unto getting wet. Therefore, after you're baptized, you should could continue to repent or you'll be lame." See it's scripture.
But it's true though, the Lord requires us to make covenants. Abraham covenanted with God...other prophets did too. And then Jesus showed us how we make covenants with Lord when he was baptized. In the Book of Mormon, the prophet Nephi taught that when we're baptized, we promise God that we'll keep his commandments, and he promises that we'll be born again if we keep that promise. Since we all fall short, we need to keep repenting so that we may be changed. This week I focused on repentance...and as I repented of my sins this week I felt the Spirit confirm to me that through repentance, we feel the Lord's peace. amen.
Stay awesome.
